Test Plot Weather Station
Heyworth FFA student Erin Brown built an agricultural weather station for the chapter’s test plot that gathers weather data that is specifically useful for farmers. This station has provided additional data for the seed companies that donate to our test plot for the past two years. The station collects humidity, air temperature, rainfall, wind speed and direction, air pressure, as well as soil temperature and soil moisture at a depth of two and four inches. Becks Hybrids has been a huge sponsor for this project and has even featured an article about it in their September 2016 CropTalk Newsletter. The data collected by the station can be viewed at heyffawx.herokuapp.com/ as well as on Weather Underground. Follow the @HeyFFAWX on Twitter for updates and more information.
